AI is everywhere — clarity is not

AI tools are already shaping how students learn, write, and submit work. But most institutions face the same challenges:

Limited visibility

Institutions lack insight into how AI tools are actually being used by students day-to-day.

Integrity pressure

Growing concerns around academic integrity and fairness in an AI-assisted world.

Policy uncertainty

Staff and students alike are uncertain about what's acceptable — and left to interpret policy alone.

Regulatory scrutiny

Difficulty demonstrating responsible practice to regulators, partners, and the public.

Without transparency — and shared understanding — trust erodes, even when AI is being used appropriately.

Students are often left to interpret policy on their own. Staff are asked to make judgements with incomplete context. ShowMyAI changes that.

If AI is part of the writing process, universities need visibility into the thinking process.

Recording AI use as part of the learning process

As students work on an assignment, ShowMyAI makes it easy to keep a structured record of any AI support used — encouraging accuracy, reflection, and consistency.

02

Contextual guidance and academic safeguards

As AI use is recorded, students are guided to review it in line with academic expectations — checking sources, reviewing for hallucinations, and ensuring appropriate referencing.

Clear disclosure, shared with confidence

ShowMyAI produces a clear, structured summary of AI use shared alongside the submission — providing staff with context and creating a transparent, auditable record.

Fair assessment Auditable record No detection tools

Authority without intimidation

We believe transparency builds trust — not enforcement alone. ShowMyAI works with existing policy — not instead of it.

Confidence instead of confusion

Students don't want to guess where the line is. ShowMyAI helps them engage with AI meaningfully — and explain that engagement clearly.

Understand expectations for each assignment — before getting started

Use AI as a learning aid, not a shortcut — with structured guidance along the way

Explain their process clearly and confidently alongside their submission

Develop responsible habits they'll carry into the workplace — not just pass the assignment

Founder

David Swift

David Swift is the founder of ShowMyAI, building practical AI governance and transparency tools for education. He brings 20+ years in EdTech — 10 years working with Higher Education and 8 years in K–12 — partnering closely with education leaders around the world to solve real problems and make sure technology is used in ways that genuinely help teachers and students. A global team-builder with a bias for action, David blends strategic thinking with hands-on delivery to help institutions adopt new approaches safely, sensibly, and with impact.

💬 When he's not talking AI and policy, he's outnumbered at home by a 3- and 5-year-old — and then heads outside to his smallholding to look after pigs, sheep, and chickens (who are, arguably, the easiest stakeholders).

Simon is a PhD-trained software engineer and technical leader, educated at the University of Cambridge. He's built and scaled reliable products from prototype to production, including work with university spin-offs — giving him a sharp understanding of how Higher Ed needs technology to behave in the real world: secure, privacy-first, accessible, and ready to integrate with existing platforms and workflows. Calm, hands-on, and delivery-focused, Simon helps institutions move from experimentation to trusted, institution-ready deployments.

💬 Outside of work, he's happiest hill walking in the Lake District.
